Who this guide is for

Most men who look up how to become a male escort have a picture in their heads that owes more to films than to the work. This site is here to replace that picture with an accurate one, and then to let the men who still want to do it apply.

It is published by The Men’s Company, usually shortened to TMC. TMC is an introduction and booking agency that has represented straight male escorts since 2009. Its clients are women and male-female couples. The agency is Dutch, takes bookings across Europe and further afield, and works with escorts in 14 countries.

You will not find a sales pitch here. Thousands of men apply every year and only a small number are offered a profile, so there is no reason to talk anyone into it. The aim is that the men who do apply have read the awkward parts first.

What the work is, without the myth

The common idea is that a gigolo is paid to be charming over dinner. That is a myth. A woman who books an escort through an agency is, in nearly every case, booking an evening that ends in bed, and she is paying a serious amount for it. Conversation and manners matter a great deal, because they decide whether she relaxes in your company, but they are not the whole booking.

If that is not something you want to offer to women you have not chosen yourself, this is the wrong line of work, and it is better to find that out on this page than in a hotel lobby. The guide to what male escort work is really like goes through a booking from the first message to the journey home.

What the agency looks for

There is no single type. The escorts on the books differ in age, build and background. What they share is that a client feels at ease with them within minutes, and that they turn up when they said they would.

In practice TMC looks for a well-groomed appearance, good conversation, some life experience, confidence without swagger, and a real interest in giving someone else a good evening. Reliability and hygiene are not negotiable. You must be at least 21, heterosexual, and willing to travel. The full list, with an honest note on who tends not to be accepted, is on the page about male escort requirements.

How the money works

Clients pay from around €500 for the first two hours, with each further hour from €150. That figure is the total the client pays and includes the agency’s fee. The client pays the agency’s part in advance and pays you in cash at the start of the appointment. Your own rate is agreed with you individually.

What nobody can tell you in advance is how often you will be booked. It depends heavily on your photos and your profile, and it varies from month to month. The page on how much male escorts earn sets out what is known and what is not, including why the phrase “male escort salary” does not really fit.

How you get in

Selection has four stages: the application form with at least five photos, an assessment by the agency, sometimes a phone call, and a personal meeting with no obligation on either side. If your photos are usable, you can be live within a week or two of being accepted. Each stage is described under how to become a male escort.

There is no course to buy and no qualification to earn first. The qualities that make someone good at this are either there or they are not. TMC briefs new escorts fully on the practical side and keeps coaching them afterwards. Be wary of any site that asks for a registration or training fee: some collect the money and never produce a booking.

Discretion, safety and the law

Nearly every applicant asks the same three things, so each has its own page.

Escorts work under an alias, and photos can be edited so that you cannot be recognised. Your personal details stay with the agency and are never given to clients or anyone else. More on that under discretion and privacy for escorts.

The agency’s rule is safe sex only, and every escort is fully tested for STIs and HIV every three months. Client details are held by the agency, which is one of the practical differences from working alone. See safety and health in escort work.

Escorting is legal in England, Wales and Scotland, though several activities around it are offences, and Northern Ireland has different rules. Your earnings are taxable as self-employed income. The page on the law and tax for male escorts in the UK gives the outline.

Agency or going it alone

Some men searching for male escort jobs in the UK are really weighing up two routes: joining an agency, or advertising for themselves. Both exist and both can work. They differ in who finds the clients, who checks them and who carries the costs. The comparison of agency and independent escort work sets the two side by side without pretending that one suits everybody.

About the agency behind this site

The Men’s Company was founded in 2009 and is run by All Sensez B.V., a company registered in the Netherlands. It represents only straight, high-class male escorts. Many of them have been with the agency for years, some for as long as twelve. There is more on the background of The Men’s Company, and the male escort FAQ collects the questions that come up most often.
